FAQ
Everything you need to know about the Lighthouse
What are the event dates and times?
Visits to the Gibraltar Lighthouse are currently available through pre-booked guided tours only, which can be reserved directly through our website.
During Summer 2026, access will be more limited while the experience is introduced progressively through selected guided visits and special opening events, so early booking is highly recommended.
From October 2026 onwards, the lighthouse will move into its full operational opening schedule, with expanded visiting hours, regular daily tours and additional seasonal experiences.
Full schedules and availability will be published on the website.
What should I bring to the event?
The weather at Europa Point changes quickly. Even on warm days, the wind around the lighthouse can be strong, so bringing a light jacket is always a good idea. Sunscreen is also recommended during daytime visits.
And don’t forget your camera , this is one of those places people regret not photographing properly.
Please note that suitable footwear is required to enter the lighthouse. For safety reasons, high heels, flip flops, open sandals or unstable shoes are not permitted inside the tower. Visitors without appropriate footwear will not be able to climb the lighthouse. Where possible, the team can provide borrowed shoes, although we cannot guarantee all sizes will always be available. Closed footwear may also be available to purchase at the Visitor Centre shop or through our website, subject to stock.
Is there parking available?
Yes. Parking at Europa Point is free of charge.
However, like most places in Gibraltar, spaces are very limited, especially during weekends, summer months and event days. For that reason, we generally recommend using public transport or taxis to reach Europa Point whenever possible.
Can I bring food and drinks?
Access to the lighthouse is permitted with a small bottle of water if needed. Not glass is allow in the premises.
Around Europa Point you’ll also find designated picnic areas and a café where you can sit and enjoy the surroundings.
We simply ask visitors to help us keep the area clean and beautiful for everyone. Europa Point is a unique natural environment, so please make sure to take any rubbish with you or use the bins provided on site.
What is the refund policy?
Tickets can be cancelled or rescheduled up to a set time before your visit, with a full refund available within that window.
After that cut-off point, refunds are no longer guaranteed, although we will always try to be flexible where possible depending on availability and operational constraints.
If a visit is affected by weather conditions or operational requirements, we will either reschedule your booking or offer an alternative solution.
Full details are always confirmed at the time of booking on the website.
Can the lighthouse be hired for private events?
Selected private events, cultural experiences and collaborations are available.
Please contact the team directly for partnership or venue enquiries at [email protected].
How can I reserve my experience?
You can reserve your experience online through our website and pay securely online at the time of booking.
Alternatively, you can book and pay in person at the Marine Interpretation Centre or Gibraltar Heritage Trust Shop.
Access to the Base of the lighthouse can be purchased at the lighthouse during opening hours, please bear in mind that hours are still on test so we recomend you to contact prior arrival.
